May is Community Action Month!

Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency, Inc. will call attention to problems facing low-income residents of Cayuga and Seneca Counties throughout May, during National Community Action Month. At least 12 percent of Cayuga County and 14 percent of Seneca County residents live in poverty. The rate of poverty is even higher (18 percent) for residents living in the City of Auburn in Cayuga County (Center for Governmental Research, Inc., 2012).

Last year, our Agency assisted 6,924 individuals through a variety of programs and services. For a more detailed listing of the impact of the Agency's programs and services, please download our brochure.

Please join us in a variety of activities in May to commemorate Community Action Month. We will have a kick-off event with children from our Head Start Program on May 1, to plant seeds and seedlings in our garden. We will have a Motorcycle Run on May 20 to raise donations of food and toiletries for our food pantry, and, we will have a garden event on May 30 to commemorate our activities during Community Action Month. For more details, download our press packet for a listing of scheduled activities, event flyers and our brochure.

Thank you for your continued commitment to our programs.
