Handyman

Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking a Handyman. The Handyman is responsible for minor repairs and assisting with maintenance of Agency buildings and grounds.

Minimum Qualifications – High School Diploma/GED with 1-3 years experience in building/grounds maintenance and minor repair.  Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools to perform maintenance work.  Must have reliable transportation and a clean and valid NYS Driver’s License. 

This position is a full-time, 40 hr/wk position with a pay rate of $11.20 per hour.

Safe Havens Center Monitor Substitute

The Safe Havens Center Monitor Substitute will be present for all supervised visits and safe exchanges. Will be responsible for documenting all required information for visits and exchanges.

Applicants should have a minimum of 60 credit hours in a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or a high school diploma/GED and have at least one year of early childhood experience. Must have reliable transportation and a clean and valid NYS Driver’s License. Applicants must not have a current or past Order of Protection against them, or have a history of being a perpetrator of domestic abuse.

This position is an on-call, as needed Substitute position with a pay rate of $10.83 per hour.

Assistant Teacher

Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency is seeking an Assistant Teacher in our Early Childhood program. The Assistant Teacher helps in providing high quality and comprehensive child development instruction to children and parents, and aids in classroom leadership.

Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college or a higher degree in a related field is required. Reliable transportation and a clean and valid NYS driver’s license is required.

This position is a full-time, 11-month position. The pay rate is $13.93/hr, 40 hrs/week. Excellent benefits package.

Early Childhood Family Worker

Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency is seeking a Family Worker in our Early Childhood program. The Family Worker is the liaison between parents and the Head Start program as well as between community resources and the family.

Associates Degree in Human Services or a related field preferred. Must have at least two years experience in community work either as a volunteer or paid employee. Must enroll in and complete a Family Service Credentialing Program such as the Family Development Credential program or Head Start Family Service Credential program. Must have a clean and valid NYS driver’s license.

This position is a full-time, 10-month position. The pay rate is $13.93/hr, 37.5 hrs/week. Excellent benefits package.

Healthy Families Family Assessment Worker

Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency is seeking a Family Assessment Worker in our Healthy Families program. The Healthy Families Assessment Worker is responsible for conducting interviews in the home to identify at-risk families and making appropriate referrals to community resources.

A High School Diploma/GED with 1-3 years experience working with families in a community setting is required. Associates’ Degree in Human Services or related field with prior parenting and/or child care experience preferred. Must have a clean and valid NYS driver’s license.

Domestic Violence/CPS Advocate

Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking an Advocate in our Domestic Violence Program. The Domestic Violence Advocate provides direct services to victims of domestic violence and their children. Serves as a liaison between victims of domestic violence and law enforcement, the courts, social services, and other service providers.

High School Diploma/GED or completion of 60 credit hours (minimum) in a regionally accredited or NYS registered college is preferred. Family Development Credential is desired. One year experience working with victims of domestic violence is required.

Domestic Violence Housing Specialist

Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking a Housing Specialist in our Domestic Violence Intervention Program. The Housing Specialist provides direct services to victims and their dependents of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking and are homeless in Cayuga County.

A Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field or four years experience in human service field preferred.

3PK Teacher

Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking 2 full-time 3PK Teachers for their Early Childhood Program in Auburn. The 3PK Teacher provides high quality and comprehensive child development instruction to children age 3 and parents as well as classroom leadership in a UPK or Head Start/UPK class.  Must have an ability to plan and implement learning experiences that advance the intellectual and physical development of children, including improving the readiness of children for school. 

Must possess a NYS Professional Certification B-2nd inclusive of certification at the pre-kindergarten/nursery level.  This is a full-time position that follows the Head Start School Calendar. Reliable transportation and a clean and valid NYS driver’s license is required. 

The rate of pay is $18.51/hr.  Scheduled hours are 35 hr/wk, 45 wks/yr.  Excellent benefits package.

Early Childhood Substitutes

Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking Substitutes in our Early Childhood Program. Substitutes assist in providing high quality and comprehensive child development instruction to children and parents, and aids in classroom leadership on an as-needed basis.

Must have a High School Diploma or GED.  Experience preferred working with pre-schoolers and/or children with disabilities. 

This is an on-call, as-needed position.  The payrate is $10.69/hr.
