Get Involved

Your support means the world to us. With your help, we are able to provide quality service to thousands of people in need here in our community. There are many meaningful ways to get involved with the Agency, outlined below. For more information, please contact Trish Ottley, Marketing & Development Director, 315-255-1703 x155 or email tottley@cscaa.com.

Make a Donation
Both cash and in-kind donations are needed to sustain services to our customers. Cash donations can be made to our Annual Appeal throughout the year to your program of choice, programs in Cayuga County, programs in Seneca County, the Brendan McGrath Memorial Fund, where most needed, or for special initiatives. Targeted donations can be made to support specific programs such as the Christmas Elf, Seneca Christmas Project, Warm the Children, and the Head Start Backpack Program.

We are always seeking in-kind donations of food for our food pantries located at 89 York Street, Suite 1 in Auburn and 23 Center Street in Waterloo. We also seek donations of gently used clothing including professional attire for distribution through our Free Clothing sites at 4 Garfield Street in Auburn and 23 Center Street in Waterloo. Other types of donations needed include personal care items and school supplies.

  Support an Event
Our Agency currently holds two major fundraisers each year: Taste for Community Action and The Purple Tie Event. We solicit corporate sponsors to offset costs for both events, as well as donations of silent auction items to increase event revenues. We also rely on the support of our community to attend these great events! Taste for Community Action supports agency-wide initiatives and was started in 1995. The Purple Tie Event supports Domestic Violence Services and was initiated in 2013. Many other smaller events and fundraisers are held throughout the year and can be viewed on our News and Events page.

  Volunteer
The Agency provides meaningful volunteer opportunities for those who wish to give the precious gift of time. We rely on volunteers to support events and programming, including Warm the Children, Christmas Elf, Seneca Christmas Project, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Free Clothing, and the food pantries.   Work for the Agency!
Our Agency employs over 120 staff to delivery to deliver a range of programs and services. Please visit our Employment page to learn of current job openings.

  Collaborate
Our Agency partners with dozens of entities to deliver relevant services to those in need within our community; we welcome new partnership opportunities. A recent example is our collaboration with the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce to provide Health Care Navigation services under the new Affordable Care Act - providing access to affordable health insurance to individuals, families and small businesses in Cayuga and Seneca Counties.
