Hunger should never be a choice. But for many, it is.
People in poverty face difficult choices, often stretching dollars between competing basic needs like food, heat, and housing. CSCAA provides over 3,000 food baskets each year to feed individuals and families in need through two food pantries, one in Auburn and one in Waterloo. Both function as emergency umbrella pantries serving people countywide. In 2015, the Agency started a backpack program to provide nutritious food over the weekend to children enrolled in our Head Start program in Auburn. We are also launching a mobile food pantry to deliver healthy groceries to homebound and isolated residents in both counties.
We are always seeking support to help sustain our hunger relief efforts. There are many ways to help. Consider donating non-perishable food donations directly to our food pantry sites located at:
- Cayuga County: 89 York Street, Auburn NY
- Seneca County: 23 Center Street, Waterloo NY
